Pakpattan, a historic city in the Punjab province of Pakistan, holds great spiritual and cultural significance, primarily due to its association with the renowned Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar. Originally known as Ajodhan, the city gained prominence in the 12th–13th century when Baba Farid made it his spiritual center. After his death, the city was renamed Pakpattan, meaning "pure ferry," symbolizing the spiritual purity and guidance associated with the saint. Throughout history, Pakpattan remained an important center of Sufism, attracting devotees and scholars from across the region.
